Map of Overton Arm

Overton Arm, Virgin Basin, and Temple Basin are very nice recreational areas.  This part of the lake is much less crowded than the Boulder Basin and offers a variety of beaches and coves for camping.  If you plan to spend more than a weekend, the extra hour drive to launch or stay in these areas will be worth it.

The Overton Marina is closed on the North end of Overton Basin due to low water conditions.  Echo Bay Marina is open and has a lodge and restaurant for those who don't like to camp or cook.  We recommend you try Echo Bay if you haven't been there yet, it's quiet and secluded, worth the drive.

Temple Bar Marina is also far removed from the Las Vegas crowd which make the area much quieter than Boulder Basin. This marina provides access to Virgin Basin nearby.  Overton Arm is about 15mi away by water, not too bad if weather is good.   If you're driving from Phoenix the easy access makes Temple Bar Marina the place to go, avoiding Las Vegas crowds, not to mention the traffic crossing the Dam on Highway 93.  Temple Bar offers all the basics..... a marina, restaurant, lodge, and store.  Marginal cellphone service exists (1or 2 bars for Verizon) in this area, payphones and wireless internet are available at the marina.
